Howdy! I’m Nate Wood.
I’m a luthier, writer, and photographer. Probably in that order.
Most people know me from the guitar world, where I spend my time fixing instruments, sharing (occasionally controversial) opinions, and generally trying to help people have more fun.
I’ve been writing my whole life. During the past few years, writing changed from a personal practice to something I do for others. With support from the luthier community, I began writing articles for The Looth Group (the best thing to happen to the trade in my opinion). My articles for TLG don’t actually focus on guitar work. They’re all about dealing with the stuff of modern life: relationships, emotions, organization, workflow, and time.
The more I write, the more I learn about myself and the world. Additionally, people reach out and start conversations when they find value in my writing. I really dig that part. Like I said in my first newsletter, “Fix a guitar, affect one person. Write something, affect all the people that read it. Writing’s the only way to spread the goods.”
